Classic to New
Something Special

Since I was young, I have loved kimonos and yukatas, their patterns, meanings, and color combinations, and I have collected kimonos that were passed down from my mother and grandmother and acquaintances, and I wanted to wear kimonos even as everyday clothes.

But to spend your entire modern life in kimonos requires a lot of courage,

determination, perseverance, and money. Also, old retro kimonos with beautiful patterns are too flashy for modern times and stand out in everyday life...Even wearing a modern kimono makes me feel like I'm trying hard.

Additionally, people in the past were often shorter than today, and kimonos were too short. That make us hard to be look good. So these kimonos just sit in the closets at home, and are forgotten without ever being worn.

So I took apart some vintage kimonos and made them into lamps and dresses so I could easily enjoy the patterns of my favorite kimonos at home anytime.

About Me

Born in 1973 in Tokyo Japan, I am part of the baby boomer generation. I was obsessed with America, inspired by the movie "Top Gun" and many of Western music.

How come did I start making kimono-remade lamps and dresses?

A brief introduction to my life, with its ups and downs.

Custom Order

We also accept orders for kimonos you already own, such as keepsakes, kimonos inherited from relatives, or kimonos that you loved but can hardly wear now.

It's sad to throw them away, but you'll never wear them again if you keep them.

Why not turn some of the fabric into a lamp or dress ?

Please contact us before throwing away any other unwanted kimonos.
